Defeat for Cawder House

Cawder House went down by 8 shots to 3 in the home leg of the Gordon Smith Trophy against Strathkelvin last night.

The gentlemen of the Strathkelvin side were just too strong and played a clever game against a Cawder House side of mixed experience.

It started well for the home side with a steal in the opening end but from then on in the visitors got the measure of the ice and cleverly manipulated the game to suit their style of play, their third Ben in particular in stunning form.

Cawder House did have one or two nice shots, Douglas saving his best til last to get the 2 in the final end, but Strathkelvin were deserving winners on the night and must be favourites now to take the trophy.

The return leg at Hamilton is scheduled for next March so we have plenty of time to get practising though!
